One of the best , most famous and popular beaches of Corfu. It is 16 miles to the West of Corfu Town. It is a wonderful sandy beach surrounded by hills covered with olive and pine trees and crystal water. You can swim here all day, but if you stay till the late afternoon, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful sunset .
It is unknown exactly when the castle of Kassiopi was built .
The Venetians , considering that it would be hard to defend both the castle and the port, blew up parts of the castle and evacuated the village. Few parts of the castle are there to remind of its glorious past.
